AC Milan have announced via their club website that defender Alessandro Nesta will be out for approximately a month due to a muscle strain. Nesta was taken off injured in the second half of Milan's 3-2 UEFA Champions League defeat against Barcelona. Daniele Bonera was the man who replaced him on the evening, and he will likely start the Serie A match against Chievo Verona this weekend.

Milan have made a surge up the Serie A table to third place after adisastrousstart to their campaign, in no small part due to the central defense partnership of Nesta and Thiago Silva. It's arguably the best in Europe at the moment on form and consistency of performances, while Bonera has been poor when he's played. Philippe Mexes is still out, while Mario Yepes is well past his prime at this point. Bonera is going to have to step up his game in the next month if Milan are to keep pace with the other contenders for the Scudetto.

Former Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff was delighted with the manner of the Catalan's victory over Inter Milan.

Barca recorded a comfortable 2-0 victory over Italian champions Inter Milan at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night, the win taking them to the top of their Champions League group.

And it was the manner of victory that so impressed former player and coach Cruyff - as they completely dominated Jose Mourinho's side despite facing the very real prospect of elimination if they had lost.

"There isn't the money in the world to pay for or to buy style. [Barcelona] played how they knew, in their distinctive style, regardless of the opposition," he revealed in his column in El Periodico de Catalunya, in which he analyzed the difference in play between the two teams.

For Cruyff, one of the key problems for Inter was the amount of possession they allowed thye home team.

"When you keep letting [Andres] Iniesta, Xavi and [Sergio] Busquets touch the ball, control the ball, the possession keeps getting away from you, you become sick of running and get tired."

Cruyff added that once Barcelona take the advantage, they begin "to play with you" and believes that the midfield trio have never enjoyed "such a pleasant game" as against Inter.

"It wasn't just any victory. It was a victory that rewarded everything that has been done, thought and prepared."

Next up for Barcelona is the El Clasico match-up with Real Madrid this Sunday.
